Sonny has been a full-time dance educator for over a decade, specialising in jazz dance technique, musical theatre, and Matt Mattox based Isolation Technique - an area in which he trained intensively for three years during his college education.

Currently, Sonny teaches across a range of courses at ArtsEd School of Musical Theatre and Emil Dale Academy, including the BA (Hons) Degree, Foundation (CERTHE) Gap Year, and BTEC programmes. He has also been a long-standing resident faculty member at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, where he has taught for over 15 years.

Sonny’s affiliation with the Royal Academy of Dance spans more than 10 years. During this time, he has taught both in the RAD Dance School and delivered workshops and courses in London and internationally. For eight years, he served as the Senior Company Leader of the RAD Jazz Company under the Step Into Dance programme, leading weekly training and choreographing performances showcased at various theatres across London.

His teaching experience also includes work at prestigious institutions such as The Royal Ballet School, London Vocational Ballet School (formerly Young Dancers Academy), The Place, and Hurtwood House. Internationally, Sonny has taught in countries including Singapore, Dubai, and Luxembourg.

His classes are known for being physically demanding and technically rigorous, yet always thoughtfully adapted to the needs and level of the group. He holds high standards and instils a strong work ethic, inspiring students to challenge themselves and consistently aim for excellence.
